A Brief History…

Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican celebratory day held on May 5, celebrated nationwide in the US and Mexico. The date is observed in the US as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride,and to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War. In the state of Puebla, the date is observed to commemorate the Mexican army‘s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Contrary to widespread popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day—the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico—which is actually celebrated on September 16.

I just back to LA from a dance gig in Vegas and an insanely EPIC weekend at my first Coachella! RADIOHEAD, M83, Swedish House Mafia, TUPAC (HAHA) all killed it this past weekend at Coachella! I went from losing my wristband and getting a new one to running around in a superwoman outfit. What a TRIP!!

In honor of all my Coachella goers from this past weekend and the next, this comic is for you! Thank you to everyone who made this past weekend for me so unforgettable!

Whew, it’s been a crazy fun month and a half of dancing my socks off to some of the greatest DJs and musicians in the world. I just returned from WMC/Ultra in Miami less than 2 weeks ago and will be leaving to weekend 1 of Coachella in a few days. It’s my first time at BOTH of these massive concert events and I’m lovin’ it! If you guys haven’t heard of seen Justice live – they KILLED it at ULTRA. They were hands down my favorite act and I’m super excited to see them again this weekend woot!

Anyway, for all my rockin’ concert-goers and rave bunnies, here’s a little something to get you in the mood for another few weeks of dancing fun time! Cheers!

I spent the last week in Miami, Florida for WMC and ULTRA Music Festival. It was my first time at the event and met so many wonderful people there AND got to dance for DJ Deniz Koyu (who will be at SUPPERCLUB in LA this Thursday – so you can catch him tomorrow night!) at ULTRA!
